Friends of the Larchmont Public Library Opposes Proposed 2019-20 Statewide Cuts in Library Funding

The proposed 2019-20 Executive Budget of the State of New York calls for significant cuts in statewide funding for public libraries.  The board of directors of the Friends of the Larchmont Public Library strongly opposes the proposal, and has gone on record to state its our position, as set out in the attached letter from Friends’ President Richard Levy, Jr., dated February 26, 2019, to the following New York State officials: Hon. Andrew M. Cuomo, Governor; Hon. Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Temporary President & Majority Leader, New York State Senate; Hon. John J. Flanagan, Minority Leader, New York State Senate; Hon. Shelly Mayer, Member, New York State ‎Senate (37th District)‎; Hon. Carl E. Heastie, Speaker, New York ‎State Assembly; Hon. Brian M. Kolb, Minority Leader, New York ‎State Assembly; and Hon. Steven Otis, Member, New York State ‎‎Assembly (91st District).
